Feeding the Hungry

Project: Sort food and pack family meal boxes.

The Montgomery County Food Bank collects and distributes food and resources to those in need in our community. We partner with the Food Bank to sort and pack food for at-risk school children along with family food boxes that will be distributed throughout Montgomery County.

Family-friendly activity
. Age Requirements below:

  • General Sorting: 7 years and older
  • Produce Rescue: 14 years and older
  • Meat Locker: 16 years and older

Serve time: 9:00 a.m. – noon

Total number of volunteers needed: 40

DETAILS

  • 8:45 a.m.: Arrive at Montgomery County Food Bank
  • Address: 1 Food For Life Way, Conroe, TX 77385
  • Check-in at Volunteer Entrance
  • Bring a jacket in case some are asked to help in cold storage area
  • Wear closed-toe shoes


FOOD BANK VOLUNTEER



Serve Time: 9:00 am - 12:00pm

Total number of volunteers needed: 20     

Prior to going to The Food Bank on October 5:  

  • Meet at 8:00 a.m. in the Harvest Worship Center for a Kick-off event     
  • Light continental breakfast
  • Pick up T-shirts
  • After the Kick-off, we will caravan to the Montgomery County Food Bank

Family Friendly Activity - children ages 7 and older

Childcare is not provided for this offsite activity.     

A fee of $10.00 per person participating in Serve It Up is requested to help cover the cost of the materials for projects.
