The Woodlands UMC is pleased to host the Rivendell Collective Speaker Series, part of a new community for avid readers, philosophers, artists, theologians, educators, scientists, engineers, clergy, etc. who enjoy coming together for discussion, learning, and grace-filled camaraderie.

The group is led by Melissa Cain Travis, PhD, Assistant Professor of Christian Apologetics at Houston Baptist University.

Dr. Melissa Cain - "The Soul: How We Know It's Real and Why It Matters"

In this lecture, Dr. Cain will discuss the philosophical case for the existence of the human soul and explain how this question relates to contemporary neuroscience.
