Event - Fishers of Men

Fishers of Men

Tue, Sep 24, 2019

Multiple Locations

"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." Matthew 4:19

We love the verse for what Jesus says, and doesn't, how Jesus phrases his words, and the depth and profound wisdom that that can be drawn from them.

When speaking to fishermen Jesus doesn't say "Let me teach you to preach", or "Can I interest you in a seminar on sharing the word of God?" He shows what a wonderful teacher he is by differentiating his approach to his audience. He tells them to follow him, the same plea he makes to us. He proclaims that HE will MAKE both them, and us, into Fishers of Men, making it clear that this is something that cannot be done without Him. He also presents us with a clear illustration of what Christians should be; Fishers of Men.

I hope you will join us as we begin our series; Fishers of Men. During this four part series we will learn to Fly Fish from some great guides, share our own fishing adventures, learn about people in bible and their call to follow Christ, as well as our own, and continue our journey of discovery into what it means to be a "Fisher of Men."
